What can the MSP app do?
The MSP app was built to help your volunteers easily access their schedule, request subs, and update their profiles from anywhere!
App Features
My Schedule
Volunteers can check their scheduled services from the My Schedule tab. When clicking on a specific position, they will be able to see other information about this service including:
- The date and time they are scheduled
- The ministry for which they are scheduled
- A list of all other volunteers serving at that service
- Notes from the administrator or Leader, if there are any notes for that service
- A “Request Sub” or “Cancel” button, for if the volunteer can no longer serve at that position (if either of these functions are turned on)
- Open Positions
Volunteers can also see the Open Positions for which they are qualified to serve. Positions in orange indicate a sub request, whereas positions in black denote an unfilled position. When clicking on a specific opening, they will be able to see:
- The date and time of the open position
- The ministry of the open position
- The name of the person requesting a sub (sub requested positions only)
- A list of all other volunteers serving at that service
- Notes from the administrator or Leader, if there are any notes for that service
- A “Volunteer Now” button, for if the volunteer wishes to fill this position
Full Schedule
This will show a list of all services on all live schedules. When clicking on a particular service, volunteers will be able to see:
- The date and time of the service
- A list of All Volunteers scheduled at this service
- Notes from the administrator or Leader, if there are any notes for that service
My Profile
Volunteers can also update their profile from the My Profile tab. The contents of this tab mirror the options found in the Web Terminal’s My Profile tab.
Settings
Volunteers can also control their push notifications and easily switch to the profiles of other family members through the Settings tab.
Sending the app to your volunteers
The MSP app is available for both in the App Store for Apple devices, and the Google Play Store for Android devices. The app is completely free to use for your volunteers.
When you launch the MSP app for the first time, it will ask you and the volunteers for your Organization ID. This is the same as the Church Web Identifier you set up when you first installed MSP. You can see what this is by clicking on the Licensing pane inside of MSP and you will see the Church Web Identifier listed here.
For your convenience there is now a token in MSP to share this with your volunteers (and that token is included in the email template that lets the volunteers know a new app is available). You can use this token on the Web Terminal or in other emails you send to help communicate that ID. Click on the Token menu in the Announcements pane or on the Web Terminal, drop-down to the Web Terminal section, and select the “ChurchWebIdentifier” token.
To easily let your volunteers know about the MSP app, use the “Mobile App Available” and many of the other preconfigured templates found by clicking the “Use template” button in the Announcements pane and then selecting “Preconfigured”. This will include all of the information they need to download and log in to the app, including their username, password, and your Organization ID.
Changes made by volunteers through the app come in to MSP as web forms, just like changes made by volunteers through the Web Terminal. By going to the Web Forms pane inside MSP, you can review these changes and approve them if needed.
Customizing the app

My Profile
The options in the My Profile tab of the app are the same options as the My Profile tab found on the Web Terminal, so changing them will effect both the app and the Web Terminal. The contents of this tab can be changed using the Web Terminal Settings Profile Changes section.
